Creative Design/Editing

From designing and making my own book covers online, to editing and experimenting with ordinary photos of myself for fun, there's no limit to my imagination.     Daydreaming was never an issue for me because I bring them all to life!

Creative Writing

Creative writing has been my ultimate adventure since i was a little girl! I've always been in love with storytelling, especially word play! I'd describe my writing as a river, purely because it always flows, whether it's fast and chaotic or calm yet powerful. It's at the heart of everything I do, from being a volunteer therapist on the website '7 cups of tea', to poems and short stories that inspire and empower!

'Learning to Love Yourself' is a poem i wrote for a competition on World Mental Health day, for a website called Poem Stellium. It was one of their winning pieces and as a result, my work was published to their website! And to top it off, i found this out around the time of my birthday so there were quite a few ~ goofy ~ happy dances that day!

I personally think it reads like a Dr Seuss poem - if he was a woman with a crazy head of curls and an obsessive need to make everyone love themselves.

I'm also creating my own illustrations for each verse because it's a dream of mine to publish this piece into a children's book!

'To be a Woman: Rules of the Logical Sex' is a darker piece, inspired by the popular feminist speech in Greta Gerwig's Barbie film, which points out all the contradictory 'rules' society pushes on women and girls. It reminded me of the more sinister contradictions that we face as women, and i just began to release my anger and passion to create not only a poem that would argue against/point out how women across the world are treated, but to empower and inspire anyone who reads it too!

This was definitely my most cathartic piece of writing for me and i had so much fun with all the wordplay and rhyming! It's also the first piece where i changed the tone and pace as it progressed! From starting off slowly, with an 'exhausted' tone of voice, to fast and frustrated, then slower again but with a hopeful voice full of power, strength, and rebellion.
